Headteacher's Welcome

Welcome to Beckley Church of England Primary School.

Beckley is a brilliant place to learn.  We are nestled in the beautiful Oxfordshire countryside, with spectacular views across Otmoor.  Our school is made up of learners who are enthusiastic, engaged and polite from Beckley itself, the villages of Forest Hill, Elsfield, Stanton St. John, Horton-cum-Studley, as well as surrounding areas and Oxford city.

At Beckley, we truly believe that high expectations for every single learner is at the root of an outstanding primary education, and this forms the basis of our vision - Soar on Wings Like Eagles (Isaiah 40:31). There is no barrier too great to stop us getting the absolute best out of everybody here, and our dedicated team of teachers and support colleagues go above and beyond to provide a curriculum that is broad, enriching, and allows all learners to soar high.  We believe that everybody should leave our school with knowledge, skills and memories that last a lifetime!

We have productive and exciting links with the wider community, including dedicated governors, other schools in the River Learning Trust, loyal parents, and the Church.  The Christian values of kindness, courage and responsibility underpin everything we do at Beckley, and visitors often comment on the compassion and warmth shown by everybody at our school.

We hope our website gives you an insight into what a special place Beckley is, but we would really like to welcome you in person.  Please call or drop by to arrange a visit and I would be happy to show you around our stunning grounds and introduce you to our brilliant learners and colleagues.

Wellbeing is a strength of the school and fundamental to its ethos. Kindness, consistent with the school’s vision, is readily and clearly demonstrated across the community. Behaviour at Beckley School is calm and respectful and makes a significant contribution to the atmosphere of learning. The school is creating a community that aptly expresses dignity and respect to all and where all can flourish

Our School Prayer

This is our school
Let peace dwell here
Let the room be full of contentment
Let love be here
Love of one another
Love of mankind
And love of God
Let us remember
That as many hands build a house
So many hearts make a school
