Collective Worship
Collective Worship is an incredibly important part of our day. It offers opportunities for reflection, prayer and conversation. As a Church of England School, we take our role in the spiritual development of our pupils extremely seriously.
The timetable for our Collective Worship is:
Monday |
Tuesday |
Wednesday |
Thursday |
Friday |
Headteacher-led worship |
Other SLT-led worship |
In-class worship, teacher-led |
Open the Book / Reverend Anthea (on alternate weeks) |
Celebration |
During Collective Worship, we expect pupils to sit silently, with their legs crossed. Pupils sit in class rows in the hall, facing the kitchen, with the youngest pupils at the front. Year 6 pupils are permitted to sit on benches at the back of Collective Worship.
At the start of any Collective Worship, the worship leader will say “This is the day that the Lord has made”, and all worshippers reply “Let us rejoice and be glad in it”.
At the end of Collective Worship, we say the school prayer together. Our school prayer is:
Loving God,
This is our school,
Let peace be here,
Let love be here,
Love of one another,
Love of mankind,
And love of God.
And let us remember,
That as many hands build a house,
So many hearts make a school.
Amen
